I'm Stephanie Schuhmacher — a Learning Architect who came up through UX leadership and has been working at the overlap ever since.
My career has lived in two places most people treat as separate: designing digital products, and designing the programs that help people build them. Right now I'm focused on the capability infrastructure that large product organizations need to develop from the inside out: mentorship programs, peer learning frameworks, competency architectures, and the measurement systems that make them worth keeping.
I bring a UX instinct to everything I build — which mostly means I spend more time on the learner's experience than on the content itself.
Recent highlights
- Completed Master's degree in Information Design and Strategy with specialization in Learning Design (degree conferred December 2025)
- Developed capstone project exploring connectivism, peer mentoring, workplace learning ecosystems, and AI for practical upskilling applications
- Designed and launched two peer development programs at my current employer, both structured so every cohort created growth on both sides
- Transformed a Figma adoption training program into a full-scale digital enablement forum — reaching an average of 90+ employees per session across UX, Product, and Product Operations
- Architecting a connected capability system at my current employer — from the competency framework that defines what good looks like, to the AI-powered coaching tools that help individuals get there
More tidbits about me
I love to help professionals develop their skills
When I was a Manager of User Experience, one of my favorite parts of the job was working with my team to create their professional development plans and helping them find education opportunities.
I give extra credit
I’ve been an adjunct faculty member at Austin Community College’s Visual Design department. While I don’t teach any longer, I served as a member of the Curriculum Advisory Committee for ACC’s UX/UI associates degree program for almost a decade.
Learning never stops, even for educators
I just earned my Masters in Information Design and Strategy with a focus on Learning Design at Northwestern University. Go wildcats!
I can be slightly obnoxious about being from Texas
Winnermint, my nom de web, pokes fun at how I pronounce the word “wintermint” in my intermittent native Texas drawl.
Makers gonna’ make
Outside of work and school, I pair building my skills in delivering synchronous online learning and working on sewing projects. I’ve live-streamed on Twitch as CatOnTheFold, where my two cats frequently raided the stream.
